What is the future of Greenland? Where are we as a Nation 20 years from now? Are we scattered all over Greenland as now – or have we migrated even more towards the bigger cities or the settlements where the jobs are available. And what about sustainability in a social context, where all citizens have job opportunities – and the responsibility to continuously developm themselves?
Are we a happy people or are we still struggling with our selfworth, our nationalism, or cultural heritage and our bilingual society as we are now? Can we overcome the challenges that lie ahead and form a mutual future where ALL people are welcome and contribute to society?
My belief is that we ARE able to overcome the difficulties that we are battling at the moment. A key for the future could be a collective vision of what kind of society we want. I have some ideas as to how to create this JOINT vision that I would like to share with you...

Our society is in the middle of a dramatic change process. The old hunting and fishing society is slowly being transformed to a modern connected reality, where Greenland is getting closer and closer to the rest of the world. But as in all change processes we are struggling with many factors that are difficult to address. Our culture have to be a part of our transformation process to a modern society with a more connected reality. It seems as if we do not really have a common direction and thus our ship is bouncing back and forth in the waves...

Why have a chosen to be in a leadership position? Quite a few people have asked me that question and I also reply with: I WANT TO MOVE THINGS FORWARD – I want to change the world to be a better place. But am I attracted to the power and influence it gives to be in a leadership position? I guess the answer is YES! Even though I do not strieve for the power and influence in itself  it is part of the equation. With that comes a huge obligation in my opinion. I must be true to myself and my beliefs. I must be able to inspire my fellow colleagues and first and foremost: I must be a good example and lead from within...

Kind of funny writing this blog from a different perspective than my prior blogs. I have decided to continue in English, since globalization also takes place in the Arctic.

My ambition is to blog about #leadership #GreenlandVer2 #arctic and #vision – seen from an Arctic perspective on top of the World with a different outlook than most people in the World.

My ambition is also to inspire the youth. To inspire the Greenlandic youth – but also youth from other regions to make their voice heard.
